Ship Chartering

The chartering of all types of vessels involves more than just being an intermediary and passing offers and counter offers between principals. Fairway increasingly finds that its customer base, although interested in the skilful execution of chartering transactions, also wants up-to-the-minute information about the market and where it is going. It is a familiarity with and an ability to provide this information which separates professional shipbrokers from mediocre ones.

All of the chartering departments at Fairway place a strong emphasis on obtaining recent and accurate market information and passing it to clients while it is still fresh and useful. During the course of a year, Fairway chartering departments conclude chartering contracts of significant value, and the fact that these are largely negotiated over the telephone requires a high degree of accuracy and integrity on the part of the brokers involved. The traditional ship broking motto of "our word, our bond" acquires great significance in such circumstances.

Currently we have chartered two barges namely M.V. Bhaskar and M.V. Bhaskar II which are plying in the Inland Waters of Goa, carrying Iron Ore from places like Sanvordem, Capxem, Maina, Sirsaim, Navelim, Digashi to Berth No. 9, Mooring Dolphin at Mormugoa Port Trust, MRH Port and Panaji Port.
